Privacy

Private by design.

Crumbs is a private place for your dating life. Here’s exactly what that means.

Crumbs never reads your messages

Crumbs doesn’t connect to SMS, iMessage, WhatsApp or any other message app, and never reads message text. You log interactions yourself, and patterns use only the timing, direction and tags you log.

Nothing reaches the other person

Nothing is shared with or visible to the people you track. Crumbs never contacts them, your calendar is never shared with them, and Crumbs never sends a message for you.

The minimum about people who didn’t sign up

The people you track never signed up for Crumbs, so it asks for as little as possible: a name or nickname, plus only the optional details you choose. A photo is optional too: it stays on your phone only, is never uploaded, and is deleted with the person, when you sign out, or when you delete your account. Before you add anyone, Crumbs asks you to add only what you’re comfortable storing. Intent labels use neutral wording.

How it’s protected

Not for advertising

Your data is never sold or shared for advertising. There are no advertising SDKs and no advertising identifier in Crumbs.

The app has a Share usage analytics switch in You → Privacy. Crumbs isn’t collecting usage analytics yet; if that changes, it will never include names, nicknames, notes, journal entries or message text, and the switch will turn it off.

Delete your account, anytime

Deleting your account in the app removes your data from our database right away. Copies in our database provider’s backups are removed as the backups rotate on the provider’s schedule. We email you to confirm the deletion.

Export isn’t available in the app yet. To get a copy of your data now, email [email protected].

Adults only

Crumbs is for adults 18 and over. You confirm your age when you sign up.

The full details, including who processes your data and your California rights, are in the Privacy Policy.
